Rovman Powell's late fireworks backed up a fine bowling performance from Mohammad Amir as Jamaica Tallawahs beat Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League at Warner Park.
Tallawahs needed 39 off 17 balls when Powell smashes three maximums to help secure victory by four wickets.
Five-time beaten finalists Warriors made 142 for 6 from their 20 overs but were impinged by a left-arm masterclass by Amir.
The Pakistani seamer claimed 3 for 22, dismissing Paul Stirling (1) and Chanderpaul Hemraj (2) inside his first eight deliveries.
Shai Hope (25), Shimron Hetmyer (39) and Romario Shepherd (36) steadied the ship to give the Warriors something to bowl at.
Nevertheless, a sub-par total beckoned until 20 came off the final seven deliveries. Amir returned to dismiss Odean Smith (6) but was sent to the boundary three times in his final over by Heinrich Klaasen (22*) and Keemo Paul (4*).

Tallawahs lost wickets at regular intervals in the chase. After losing Imad Wasim (18) and being reduced to 93 for 5 they needed 50 off the last four overs.
Powell had played an uncharacteristically subdued innings of 17 off 29 balls but he put the hammer down when his team needed it.
He took a boundary off Smith before the match swung the Tallawahs' way when first Chris Green and then Powell crashed three maximums in the 18th over.
A dozen were still needed from the final seven balls but Tallawahs only required three, as Green hit Smith for four before Powell levelled the scores with his fourth six over mid-wicket.
A drive through the covers secured their second victory of the group phase as the Warriors were consigned to defeat in their opening game.
