The Pakistani was dismissed by the allrounder during the chase in Trinidad and has been charged for breaching the CPL's code of conduct for his reaction
Asif Ali has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee after swinging his bat in the direction of Keemo Paul during Jamaica Tallawahs' Caribbean Premier League victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors.
During Tallawahs chase, Ali was dismissed for just three in the eighth over after top-edging off Paul straight into the hands of Chris Green - leaving them 49 for 3 in pursuit of 109.
In his frustration, the 28-year-old swung his blade at the allrounder - who was forced to briefly retreat. The incident was captured by television cameras and was adjudged to have breached the CPL's code of conduct.
Ali has been charged under section 2.18 having been deemed to be "acting contrary to the spirit of the game".
He has since featured against Barbados Tridents and is likely to be involved again when the Tallawahs face St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Saturday (August 28).
