What's the match?

Barbados Royals take on Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2022 Caribbean Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to take place at 10am local time (GMT-5) on Tuesday, September 7.

Where is the match being played?

This game is due to be staged at Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, Saint Lucia.

Who's got the form?

Barbados Royals have made a perfect start to the CPL, winning their opening two games. They overcame St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in their opening game, win by seven wickets.

Last time out they saw off St Lucia Kings. Rahkeem Cornwall, Kyle Mayers and David Miller helped put on 162 for 7 from their 20 overs. Rain reduced the Kings' target to 103 in nine over but they fell 12 runs short.

Trinbago Knight Riders got off to an ideal start themselves, beating Kings themselves by three wickets. Set 144 to win, they were in debt to Tion Webster's 58 and Tim Seifert's 34.

But they have been unable to build on that result, seeing their clash with SKNP abandoned without a ball being bowled due to inclement weather.

What's the match-up to watch?

It will be the battle of the spinning allrounder openers with Cornwall and Sunil Narine looking to give both sides a good start at the top of the innings.

Both go about their business in contrasting fashion - Cornwall uses power and muscle, while Narine is more about finesse and technique. Either way, it will be fascinating to see them go about trying to give their sides the ideal start.

They each top-scored for their respective sides in the recent 6ixty semi-final, which TKR won by three wickets.

Cornwall (150 strike rate) is the man in the form, however, having come into the CPL off the back of a fine 6ixty. His run of scores read 25, 21, 36, 39 and 32 and there is every reason to think he can continue that form on a fresh pitch, now the tournament has moved to Saint Lucia.

What's the news from the camps?

There is good and bad news for the rested Knight Riders, who have a selection dilemma ahead of what they hope will be their second game.

Colin Munro is available after joining up from The Hundred, having been part of the victorious Trent Rockets side.

But there is an injury concern around Akeal Hosein who is recovering from a nasty fall in the opening game. He missed the no result against the Patriots and it remains to be seen how TKR balance their XI.
