Jhye Richardson is yet to prove his fitness ahead of the sharp end of the Big Bash League.

The 26-year-old has not played since the January 4 defeat to Sydney Thunder due to a hamstring injury.

Perth Scorchers had been hoping Richardson would return in time for the climax of the competition.

Scorchers host Sydney Sixers in the Qualifier on Saturday (January 28). Victory would secure progress to the final on February 4, with defeat sending them into the Challenge two days prior.

Head coach Adam Voges remains hopeful he will return but admits he has work to do to prove his fitness.

"We're all really hopeful he'll be available for Saturday," said Voges.

"He's still got some things to do to prove his fitness.

"Once he is declared fit, then I've got no issues with bringing him back in. But he's still got a bit to do."

Lance Morris missed the 10-run victory over Melbourne Renegades through illness but it is hoped he will be available for the latter stages too.

Jason Behrendorff returned to the side, delivering 10 dots balls in four wicketless overs.

But they will be without Ashton Agar for the BBL Finals following his call-up for the India Test tour.

Matt Kelly also faces a race against time to be fit for the final week of action. He was struck in the face while fielding against Renegades and was substituted with a concussion.
