Liam Livingstone turned on the style with a quick-fire 30 to help Punjab Kings thump Indian Premier League leaders Gujarat Titans.

The England international hit two fours and three consecutive sixes across just 10 deliveries to secure victory for Kings with four overs to spare and eight wickets in hand.

Livingstone launched Mohammad Shami for the biggest six of the 2022 IPL so far, a 117-meter hit which reached the top tier at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy.

Titans had earlier made 143 for 8 from their 20 overs, with only one batter going past 21 in their innings.

Sai Sudharsan led the way with an unbeaten 65 from 50 balls but he carried the effort as only three of his teammates got into double figures.

Shubman Gill (9), Hardik Pandya (1), David Miller (11) and Rahul Tewatia (11) were uncharacteristically out of touch while Rashid Khan only lasted one delivery.

Kagiso Rabada led the way with the ball, taking 4 for 33. Sandeep Sharma went at an economy rate of 4.25, while there were wickets for Arshdeep Singh, Rishi Dhawan and Livingstone.

Despite losing Jonny Bairstow in the third over, after he had been moved up to open, Kings were rarely in trouble in the chase of 144.

Shikhar Dhawan his 62* and Bhanuka Rajapaksa made 40 before being trapped lbw by Lockie Ferguson.

That dismissal opened the stage for Livingstone, who took four deliveries to take stock of conditions before producing a flurry of blistering shots that delivered victory with 24 balls still to be bowled.

He dismantled Shami in the space of three deliveries, starting the siege with a maximum that flew into the Mumbai night and clattered into the top stand.

Two more followed - a flick via a full toss over mid-wicket and a top-edge six over the wicketkeeper - before a pair of fours secured a simple win.

The result take Kings into fifth in the table, giving their negative net run rate a boost in the process, while Titans remain top with a two-point cushion over Lucknow Super Giants with 10 games played.
