Where is the match being played?

Every game in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League is being held at Warner Park on St Kitts, in an effort to minimise the Covid-19 risk to the tournament.

Who’s got the form?

The defacto hosts St Kitts and Nevis Patriots have reached the mid-way point in the group stage with a perfect record from their five matches.

Dwayne Bravo's side have strung together an imperious run of results with four straight successful chases.

Their dominance was compromised last time out by Barbados Royals, who set 161 to win and reduced them to 98 for 6 in the chase. Dominic Drakes struck 28 before Sheldon Cottrell smacked an unbeaten 20, including maximums in the final two overs to throw his side kicking and screaming over the line.

The newly named Kings have not benefitted from their rebrand after last year's runners-up finish, having collected two wins and a pair of defeats from their opening four matches.

Having been walloped by Jamaica Tallawahs in their first game the Kings have recovered and consigned Guyana Amazon Warriors to a 51-run loss in their last outing.

Roston Chase struck the second-highest individual score of the tournament so far, a 50-ball 85, before leading wicket-taker Ravi Rampaul claimed 4 for 29 as the Warriors were dismissed for 98, the lowest score of the competition.

Who to watch?

Sherfane Rutherford is the CPL's highest run-scorer, but he followed back-to-back unbeaten fifties with just one against Royals as he picked out Nyeem Young on the rope.

Indeed, the run of form for the Patriots has caused a degree of bemusement that he hasn't played an international for West Indies for 20 months.

Captain Bravo, who has seen his fair share of dashing Windies batters come and go, has urged his nation not to let Rutherford's talent slip through their fingers.

“Sherfane is up there with (Nicholas) Pooran and Hetty (Shimron Hetmyer) and these guys so we can’t afford to lose him,” he said.

“He’s somebody that’s very [important]. I asked him what number he wanted to bat [in the last game] and he said number five but the way the game progressed, it gave him the opportunity to go in there and play [with] his natural ability."

Few global competitions take place these days without Tim David, whose success at the last Big Bash League for Hobart Hurricanes has opened the door to the franchise circuit.

The Singapore international won deals with Lahore Qalandars and Southern Brave either side of a spell at Surrey in the T20 Blast and One-Day Cup, where he struck two centuries.

Such performances have seen him claim a maiden IPL deal with Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore.

The 25-year-old already has a fifty to his name for the Kings in his opening CPL campaign and is a key component of a stellar middle-order including the in-form Chase.
