What is it?

The final of the 2019 Cricket World Cup sees hosts England take on 2015 finalists New Zealand.

When is it?

The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 14, starting at 10.30am (BST).

Where is it?

Lord's - where else would this showpiece take place? Neither side has tasted victory at this ground in the tournament, with both going down to Australia there during the group stages. But there has to be a winner here right?

Who's playing?

Eoin Morgan could well name an unchanged XI from the team that defeated Australia so convincingly at Edgbaston, providing that Jonny Bairstow's apparent groin strain is nothing of too much concern.

The opener appeared to tweak it on the turn when running but the England captain was unconcerned and seemed confident he would be fit for the final.

Liam Plunkett was not at his brilliant best in Birmingham after his excellent displays against India and New Zealand in the final two group games, but whether that will warrant the return of Moeen Ali remains to be seen.

The Worcestershire allrounder has not featured for England since their defeat to Australia at Lord's at the end of last month, but Plunkett's excellent all-round tournament could see him be given the benefit of the doubt.

New Zealand also do not have any injury problems ahead of the showdown, and will be pleased to have Lockie Ferguson back among the ranks after another excellent performance against India.

Tim Southee was given a go in Ferguson's absence, but with the former not overly impressing it is unlikely that they will make any changes to the side.

What are the odds?

England beat New Zealand handsomely in Durham during the group stages, and Sporting Index are backing England to do it again and win the World Cup for the first time in Sunday’s final.

Sporting Index make England 32-42 favourites in the supremacy market with a point awarded for each run won by or 10 points per wicket won by.

Joe Root and Kane Williamson could become embroiled in a mini-battle to try and confirm themselves as the tournament's leading run scorers with a century at Lord's. The England man has scored 549 runs so far and his Kiwi counterpart 548, and they will need 100 and 101 runs respectively in the final to overtake India's Rohit Sharma.

Sporting Index are backing the duo to have a significant impact though with both of their player performances being quoted at 56-61 with one point awarded per run, 10 per catch and 20 per wicket (in the unlikely event that they bowl!).
