Chelmsford: Hampshire 101-7, Essex 97-6 - Hampshire won by four runs

Freya Davies and Bex Tyson impressed with the ball as leaders Hampshire defended a total of 101 to win by four runs in a game reduced to 17 overs a side by rain at Chelmsford.

Davies returned figures of 2 for 15 and Tyson 2 for 20 in a heroic fielding effort by the visitors which meant Essex fell short of a target of 102, finishing 97 for 6, Sophie Munro top-scoring with an unbeaten 28.

Earlier, Maia Bouchier and Freya Kemp both made 31 in what looked an under-par score of 101 for 7, Esmae MacGregor the pick of the home attack with 2 for 17.

Old Trafford: Lancashire 169-9, Somerset 167-5 - Somerset won by five wickets (DLS Method)

An impressive bowling display set Somerset up for an entertaining five-wicket DLS victory against high-flying Lancashire at Old Trafford as they boosted their One Day Cup semi-finals hopes.

Sixth-placed Somerset restricted their second-placed hosts to 169 for 9 from 44 overs and chased a revised 164 from the same allocation inside 35 for a bonus point.

Ellie Anderson's seam accounted for three wickets and Amanda-Jade Wellington's leg-spin two before Niamh Holland and Danielle Gibson contributed 44 apiece to help secure a fifth win in 11 games. Wellington also added a steadying 25 not out to cap her impressive day.

Inserted Lancashire had been put under early pressure at 69 for seven inside 24 overs before England seamer Kate Cross' composed 51 off 58 balls led a fightback which ultimately failed to prevent a fourth defeat in 11.

Both sides maintained the group-table positions they held at the start of the day.

Edgbaston: Bears v Durham - Match Abandoned without a ball bowled

The frustration was deep for Warwickshire and Durham as their Women's One Day Cup clash was washed out in Birmingham.

With both sides desperately needing full points to boost their small chance of qualifying for the knockout phase, they were hoping the forecast heavy showers would miss the Edgbaston Community Sports Ground. Sadly, they didn't.

An early lunch was called to enable the ground to dry from earlier rain, but during the interval, torrential rain set back in to make an early call-off inevitable.

Warwickshire will hope for better luck with the weather when they host Essex back at the ECSG on Sunday while Durham will do the same when they welcome Hampshire to Chester-le-Street that day.
