What's the match?

Melbourne Stars host Hobart Hurricanes in match 49 of the WBBL; the eighth edition of the tournament.

When is it taking place?

The game is scheduled to start at 3pm local time (4am GMT) on Wednesday, November 16.

Where is the match being played?

The game will be played in Latrobe at the Latrobe Recreation Ground.

Who's got the form?

Both sides have won three of their last five games to keep themselves in the hunt for a playoff spot, but these two teams only played one another for the first time this season on Tuesday, so this is the second half of a doubleheader.

Hobart Hurricanes will have been particularly frustrated by their defeat at the hands of Alice Capsey's unbeaten 80, having won their three previous games to force themselves into a position of significant strength in the league standings. Now, however, after losing by four wickets, they are one of three teams stuck on 13 points, albeit with a game in hand on Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers.

For Stars, their Capsey-inspired win has kept their campaign alive. Another win over Hobart on Wednesday will move them to within a point of the playoff contenders. Only Sydney Thunder have scored fewer runs in the tournament, though.

What's the key match-up?

Before Tuesday, Capsey hadn't quite lit up the stage as she would have wanted to in her first Women's Big Bash campaign. There had been several starts and cameos without a match-winning contribution. But that has changed now, and her wicket will be key for Hurricanes, for whom Molly Strano recorded figures of 3 for 17 against the rest of Stars' middle order.

Annabel Sutherland is also key for Melbourne; she was excellent with bat and ball on Tuesday, and that dual responsibility might increase if Tess Flintoff isn't fit.

What's the weather forecast?

A fairly cool day expected in Latrobe, with highs of 15 degrees Celsius and a fair bit of sunshine.

What is the team news?

Tess Flintoff injured the AC joint in her shoulder during Stars' win over Hurricanes and didn't bat, having been taken for scans.

What are the squads?

What are the odds?

Hurricanes are clear favourites for victory at 4/6 despite losing the reverse fixture on Tuesday.

What's the prediction?

Hobart will be confident of bouncing back, given their fine recent form and the fragility of Stars' batting line-up.

Are tickets available?

Standard tickets may be available at the box office.
