Chasing 148, Melbourne Stars lost Lauren Winfield-Hill (20 off 21) early on and without Jemimah Rodrigues (the Indian batter is on international duty), their hopes of a win quickly slipped away.

Her replacement, Bess Heath, did her best the hold the innings together, top-scoring with 37 (30) but it wasn't enough.

Following her dismissal on the stroke of drinks, wickets fell at regular intervals for the Stars and they closed on 120 for 9, with Nicole Faltum (24 off 19) the only other meaningful contributor with the bat.

Earlier, Healy's onslaught was the highlight of the Sixers' innings. Several middle order batters, including Ellyse Perry (28 off 30), Gardner (24 off 24) and Erin Burns (22 off 17) made starts but failed to kick on.

Kim Garth (2 for 21) and Sutherland, who removed Healy and Gardner, were the standout performers with the ball for the Stars, helping to restrict the Sixers to 147 for 6.
