Hobart Hurricanes have signed Indian international Richa Ghosh for the 2021 Women’s Big Bash League.
The 18-year-old middle-order batter has made nine T20I appearances for India since making her debut against in February 2020, scoring 126 runs at a strike rate of 112.50.
In September, Ghosh, who can also keep wicket, made her ODI debut against Australia, scoring 32 not out (29 balls), 44 (50) and 0.
Ghosh is one of seven Indian players taking part in WBBL 07, joining Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma (Syndey Thunder), Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues (Melbourne Renegades), Radha Yadav and Shafali Verma (Sydney Sixers).
"I’m very excited to be playing the WBBL this year," Ghosh said. "I’m very thankful to the Hurricanes for this opportunity, and I’m looking forward to coming to Tasmania and meeting up with my new teammates."
The Indian international is Hobart’s final overseas signing for 2021, joining South Africa’s Mignon du Preez and New Zealand’s Rachel Priest.
