Oval Invincibles have recruited Paul Stirling for the men's Hundred final, which will take place at Lord's on Sunday, August 27.

The Invincibles, who are searching for their maiden men's title, will face either Manchester Originals or Southern Brave.

He replaces Australian bowler Spencer Johnson who, alongside compatriot Adam Zampa, left the competition as the end of the group stage due to international commitments.

Stirling is highly coveted on the T20 circuit for his batting, scoring over 8,000 runs at a strike rate of 141.64, and boasts a solid record at Lord's, scoring 793 runs at 27.34, including seven half-centuries, in 29 T20s at the ground.

The Ireland international made nine appearances for Southern Brave across the first two editions of The Hundred, scoring 211 runs, including two half-centuries, at a strike rate above 160. He was player of the match in the 2021 final, scoring 61 runs off 36 balls as Brave beat Birmingham Phoenix.

Oval Invincibles, who topped the table with six wins from eight matches, have lost four overseas players over the course of the competition, with Sunil Narine and Heinrich Klaasen also unavailable for the final.

Jimmy Neesham, signed as a replacement for Klaasen ahead of the final round of group matches, can be expected to line up alongside Stirling as Oval Invincibles' second overseas player.
