Australian trio among replacements confirmed for men's Hundred

Matthew Wade returns to the competition with London Spirit, Adam Zampa will replace Sunil Narine at Oval Invincibles and Matthew Short is bound for Northern Superchargers

Six replacement players have been confirmed for the men's Hundred with less than three weeks until the competition begins.

Cricket Australia's decision to withdraw Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Marsh from the London Spirit squad has forced them into some 11th-hour moves.

Matthew Wade, who played for Birmingham Phoenix last season, and New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell have been added to the group.

Oval Invincibles will lose Sunil Narine to the Caribbean Premier League from August 13 and have agreed to sign Adam Zampa, who played four matches for Welsh Fire last term.

Elsewhere, with the South Londoners having lost Saqib Mahmood due to his stress fracture have added Surrey's Tom Lawes to their attack.

Wanindu Hasaranga has withdrawn from his stint at Manchester Originals due to the clash with the Lanka Premier League and will be replaced by Usama Mir, the uncapped Pakistan spinner who shone during Worcestershire's run to the T20 Blast quarter-finals.

Rapids retained Usama as a replacement for Michael Bracewell, who injured his Achilles during their Blast campaign and is also out of The Hundred for Northern Superchargers. The Adelaide Strikers allrounder Matt Short will act as his stand-in.

Trent Rockets and Southern Brave, two sides unaffected by the recent changes, will kick off the men's competition on August 1, the first of 34 matchdays in 2023.
