Fixture: Northamptonshire Steelbacks v Notts Outlaws
Venue: County Ground, Northampton
Date: Sunday, June 13, 2021
Start time: 4.15pm
What’s the lowdown?
Two winless sides do battle in Northampton as the Steelbacks face off against the Outlaws.
Visitors Notts opened their campaign with a televised tie at Worcestershire Rapids, contriving to slip from 76 without loss with two balls remaining of the powerplay to finish on 152 for 8.
That was followed by defeat by Birmingham Bears on home turf on Friday night, having conceded a whopping 229 for 5 in the first innings. The defending champions will want to put this meagre start to the term right at Wantage Road.
Steelbacks, meanwhile, were comfortably beaten at home by Worcestershire Rapids in their only fixture to date.
Who’s in form?
Ben Duckett, Joe Clarke and Alex Hales have all shown a glimpse of their immense talents with the bat during Notts' first two fixtures. Duckett's 27-ball 51 against Birmingham gave his team a flicker of hope in pursuit of a monumental target.
Ben Sanderson was the pick of the Steelbacks bowlers against the Rapids. Sanderson claimed 3 for 21 in three overs.
What’s the team news?
Mohammad Nabi misses the first week of the competition while completing his quarantine following arrival into the UK.
Notts Outlaws name a unchanged squad.
Notts Outlaws squad: Jake Ball, Sol Budinger, Matt Carter, Joe Clarke, Ben Duckett, Luke Fletcher, Alex Hales, Calvin Harrison, Lyndon James, Tom Moores, Steven Mullaney, Dane Paterson, Samit Patel, Peter Trego
