Northampton: Northamptonshire 184-6, Birmingham Bears 174-8 - Northamptonshire won by 10 runs

Ben Sanderson sealed a historic, unprecedented sixth straight T20 Blast victory for Northamptonshire Steelbacks with three wickets in the penultimate over against Birmingham Bears at Wantage Road.

Sanderson finished with figures of 3 for 31 as the hosts wrapped up a dramatic 10-run victory.

With Moeen Ali well set on 31, the Bears needed 24 off the last two overs before Sanderson broke through, collecting three wickets in four balls, including the dangerous Moeen, to extend his tally of wickets in this year's competition to 17.

Justin Broad had smashed 60 off 35 balls (seven fours, one six) to help propel Northamptonshire Steelbacks to 184 for 6.

Matthew Breetzke also struck 53 off 36 balls, his first half-century of the season, during a partnership of 59 in six overs with skipper David Willey (34).

Chester-Le-Street: Durham 168-6, Derbyshire 152 - Durham won by 16 runs

A tremendous half-century from Ollie Robinson led Durham to a 16-run victory over basement boys Derbyshire in the T20 Blast.

Durham had a nightmare start when they lost an early wicket, but Robinson’s fluent 70, a T20 best for him, helped his side to 168 for six amid some impressive bowling from Allah Ghazanfar (2 for 18) and Fynn Hudson-Prentice (2/25).

Caleb Jewell (33 off 22) made early inroads into the Durham total with a display of controlled aggression, but a two-wicket over from Nathan Sowter (2 for 30) swung momentum back in Durham’s favour.

Bar some resistance from Wayne Madsen (37 off 31), the Derbyshire chase didn’t get going after that, and Ben Raine (3 for 21) mopped up the tail to bowl the Falcons out for 152.

Trent Bridge: Yorkshire 175-8, Nottinghamshire 166-9 - Yorkshire won by nine runs

Dawid Malan hit his third consecutive T20 Blast half-century as Yorkshire, having lost their first three North Group matches, defeated Notts Outlaws by nine runs at Trent Bridge.

With Adam Lyth making 29 from 21 and Matt Revis 27 not out from 22, Malan’s 58 from 29 balls helped Yorkshire post 175 for 8.

After Malan and Lyth had put on 83 in 45 balls for the first wicket, they may have hoped for a few more with left-arm spinner Liam Patterson-White (two for 24 from four) and pace duo Dillon Pennington (two for 29) and Daniel Sams (two for 31) limiting the damage thereafter.

Yet the target still proved beyond the Outlaws in the face of a tidy performance across the board by Yorkshire’s bowlers, led by Jack White (4 for 33), home skipper Joe Clarke making 50 and Freddie McCann 31, but no other batter passed 20.
