Scorecard

Paarl Royals launched themselves into the SA20 top four after beating leaders Pretoria Capitals at Boland Park.

Captain David Miller hit an unbeaten 28 off 14 balls to secure a six-wicket victory.

Will Jacks' two wickets in three balls, dismissing Dane Vilas (24) and England compatriot Jos Buttler (39) left the hosts needing 39 from 27 balls.

But Miller took control, whacking opposing skipper Wayne Parnell through the covers before reaching the rope in successive deliveries in the 20th over bowled by Anrich Nortje.

Mitchell van Buuren (12 not out) hit the winning runs with the scores level to complete the upset.

Capitals were looking to confirm a top-four spot with a third win in a row and set 159 to win after Theunis de Bruyn's 53.

Kusal Mendis marked his first SA20 appearance with 37 but they were pegged back from wickets for Lungi Ngidi (1 for 19) and Ferisco Adams (2 for 38).

Royals were unperturbed in the chase, with Jason Roy and Wihan Lubbe putting on 48 for the first wicket before the former was bowled by Eathan Bosch.

Contributions throughout saw them nudge gradually towards the total before Jacks' heroics put the game up for grabs again.

But Miller and Van Buuren kept their cool to take Royals up to third in the table, albeit having played at least one game more than all of their rivals.
