Inspired by Will Jacks, Pretoria chased down a meagre total inside eight overs at Durban after a fine bowling display had blown away the hosts

Durban: Durban Super Giants 80, Pretoria Capitals 84-2 - Pretoria Capitals win by eight wickets

Pretoria Capitals' excellent start to the SA20 continued as their bowling attack once again blew away an opposition batting line-up to set up an easy victory at a canter.

It was Joburg Super Kings on Wednesday, and they repeated the dose by rolling Durban Super Giants for just 80 at Kingsmead, before Will Jacks hammered 56 off 25 balls to finish proceedings in double-quick time.

Capitals, under Wayne Parnell's captaincy, were tactically superb and once again had a bowling attack on the money from the very start.

Twice in three days they have taken a wicket with the first ball of the match, Eathan Bosch doing the business on Wednesday to dismiss Reeza Hendricks and Parnell himself taking the new ball against Durban to have Kyle Mayers caught at third man off a ball that rose sharply and took his top edge.

Thereafter, all that Pretoria touched turned to gold: Parnell gambled with a review against Wiaan Mulder that looked tight on first glance but was overturned in his favour, and Anrich Nortje then castled Quinton de Kock as he attempted to swipe him over midwicket.

A recovery of sorts ensued while Heinrich Klaasen (31) and Jason Holder (10) were together, but the former West Indies captain chipped the left-arm spin of the excellent Senuran Muthusamy to deep cover, before Muthusamy caught Christiaan Jonker off his own bowling in his next over.

Klaasen then missed a hoick at Adil Rashid, whose four overs cost just 10 runs, and Dwaine Pretorius spooned a catch to short third to gift Muthusamy his third.

Bosch and Nortje combined to end the innings inside 19 overs, with just four fours and four sixes managed between Super Giants' batters, who were powerless against the clinical efficiency of Capitals on a surface that offered extra bounce to the seamers.

Pretoria's reply threatened an eventful start when Phil Salt drilled the first ball of the innings at mid-off, giving Mayers the dubious honour of falling to the first ball of the first innings and taking a wicket with the first ball of the second. He thought briefly that he had two in two, only for Theunis de Bruyn to successfully review an lbw decision against him as the ball hooped down the legside.

But Jacks ensured any modicum of concern soon evaporated, timing the ball beautifully all around the ground in a cameo that was typically easy on the eye. He raced to fifty in the seventh over as Capitals won in a hurry with 74 balls left unused.
