India batter Shaw enjoyed his best day in a Northamptonshire shirt, smashing 244 against Somerset four days before another hundred against Durham
India batter Prithvi Shaw will return to Northamptonshire in 2024 after starring for the Wantage Road county in the One-Day Cup.
Shaw, 23, lit up a frustrating season for John Sadler's side, belting 429 runs in just four games – with an average of 143 and a strike rate of 152.6 – before a knee problem curtailed his spell.
Even then, after suffering the injury while fielding against Durham, he would later an unbeaten 125 in the same game.
His best day in a Northamptonshire shirt, though, came in smashing 244 against Somerset four days earlier.
"I'm so excited to be heading back to Northamptonshire next summer," he said. "Even though it was over quickly I really enjoyed my time there, it's a great club to be a part of and I felt so welcome by everyone immediately. I can't wait to get back over."

He added: "My goal is always to help win games for the team and it was so disappointing to get injured and have to leave early this time. I had a few teams contacting me after the tournament wanting to talk about playing for them next year, but I feel like I still have more to achieve with Northamptonshire."
Shaw is set to return on a longer-term deal, from June through to the end of the season, with the 12-time India international available for the County Championship, as well as the One-Day Cup.
"Prithvi is a phenomenal talent and what he delivered for us in such a short space of time was incredible," said Sadler.
"He was utterly disappointed not to stay longer due to his injury as he wanted to play some red-ball cricket, so the chance for him to do this next year is really exciting for us all."
