Radlett: Middlesex v Durham - match abandoned

Middlesex and Durham had to settle for a point apiece after their Metro Bank One-Day Cup game at Radlett was called off due to a waterlogged surface.

Drizzle began to develop around the scheduled 11am start time, with heavier rain following later and causing sufficient damage to make the outfield unplayable.

Umpires Anthony Harris and Naeem Ashraf eventually abandoned the game at 3pm after inspecting the playing area for a second time.

It means both teams move up a place in the Group A table, with Middlesex now fifth and Durham sixth – each with five points from five games.

Middlesex are next in action on Thursday, when they travel to face Lancashire at Old Trafford, with Durham hosting Hampshire at Gosforth the following day.

Kibworth: Surrey 296-7, Leicestershire 279 - Surrey won by 17 runs

In-form Dom Sibley's second hundred in three matches spurred Surrey to end a run of five straight defeats with their first One-Day Cup victory of the season, dealing a blow to Leicestershire's hopes of qualifying for the knock-out stages.

Sibley followed his 149 against Warwickshire and 72 versus Nottinghamshire with 105, sharing stands of 138 for the first wicket with Ryan Patel (72) and 111 for the second with Ben Geddes (61) as Surrey totalled 296 for 6, which proved enough despite losing five wickets in the last eight overs.

The Foxes were given a chance as opener Sol Budinger maintained his place as the competition’s leading run scorer by hitting 70 from 68 balls and Tom Scriven’s career-best 55 raised hopes of a gripping finish for a crowd of almost 1,400 but ultimately proved in vain, leg-spinner Cameron Steel taking three for 48 for the victors.

All-rounders Ian Holland (two for 50) and Scriven (two for 51) were the pick of the Foxes bowlers, with 19-year-old seamer Sam Wood taking one for 34 on his List A debut.

Scarborough: Essex 243-9, Yorkshire 244-7 - Yorkshire won by three wickets

A nerveless unbeaten career-best 53 from Dom Bess guided Yorkshire to a crucial win in a rollercoaster One-Day Cup clash with Essex as they chased 244 to win by three wickets at Scarborough and maintain their qualification hopes.

Both sides encountered batting problems in an enthralling contest played on a competitive pitch.

The Vikings fell from 102 for 2 to 184 for 7, losing Shan Masood for 58 and James Wharton for a career-best 71 off 89 balls. New ball seamer Shane Snater impressed with three wickets for Essex, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a fourth defeat in five matches in Group B.

After losing three early wickets having been inserted, Robin Das and Luc Benkenstein made 67 off 92 balls and 68 off 94 respectively in Essex's 243 for nine, which saw new ball pair Ben Cliff and Ben Coad claim three wickets apiece for Yorkshire, who have now won three from five.
