MEN'S ONE DAY CUP ROUNDUP: The opening round of matches sees wins for Durham and Gloucestershire, but no play is possible at Sedburgh between Lancashire and Northamptonshire
Gosforth: Durham 310-7, Sussex 259 - Durham won by 51 runs
A brilliant century from Ollie Robinson and an excellent all-round effort from Will Rhodes led Durham to a 51-run victory over Sussex in the One Day Cup.
Robinson's counter-attacking century, which was his first List A ton for Durham, supported by a gutsy innings from Rhodes fired Durham to a total of 310 for 7 from their 50 overs, with Archie Lenham the pick of the Sussex bowlers.
Sussex's chase of 311 got off to a poor start as they found themselves 86 for 4 at one point, but middle-order runs from Danny Lamb dragged his side back in the game.
However, Rhodes secured Durham the opening day victory with his first-ever List A five-wicket haul.

Neath: Hampshire 324-6, Glamorgan 252 - Hampshire won by 72 runs
Nick Gubbins' career best 144 not out led an inexperienced Hampshire to a winning start in the One Day Cup against defending champions Glamorgan at The Gnoll in Neath.
Four teenagers featured for the visitors – including a three-man seam attack with ages of 19, 19 and 16. The youngest of the trio - Manny Lumsden took 3 for 64 to derail the top order despite Kiran Carlson's magnificent 135.
Carlson’s first ever one-day century was unable to be supported due to a steady flow of wickets left Glamorgan bowled out inside 40 overs, 72 short of Hampshire's 324 for 6.
Other debutant Ben Mayes played fearlessly for 74 from 55 balls in the 17-year-old's 141-run partnership with Gubbins to end the visitors' innings explosively.
Cheltenham: Gloucestershire 341-8, Derbyshire 282 - Gloucestershire won by 59 runs
Ollie Price illuminated the final day of the Towergate Cheltenham Festival, scoring a superb hundred as Gloucestershire beat Derbyshire Falcons by 59 runs to make a winning start to their One Day Cup campaign.
The Oxford-born batsman posted 103 from 115 balls and staged stands of 141 with James Bracey and 97 with Ben Charlesworth for the second and third wickets respectively as the home side ran up an imposing 341 for 8 at the famous College Ground.
Promoted to open the innings, Bracey contributed an enterprising 83, while Charlesworth and skipper Jack Taylor weighed in with half-centuries.
Brooke Guest raised a brilliant 86 from 88 balls and shared stands of 64 with Matt Montgomery and 76 with Amrit Basra, who scored 42 and 40 respectively, as the Falcons made a decent fist of chasing.
But paceman Zaman Akhter returned figures of 4 for 47, including a decisive spell of three wickets in six balls, to swing the contest back in Gloucestershire's favour and ensure Derbyshire were dismissed for 282 in 45.5 overs.
Sedburgh: Lancashire v Northamptonshire - match abandoned
Lancashire and Northamptonshire's One Day Cup campaigns got off to the dampest of starts on Tuesday when their Group B match at Sedbergh School was abandoned without a ball bowled.
The school's groundstaff, led by head groundsman Martin South, had made herculean efforts to cope with the impact of Storm Floris on Monday (August 4), and when umpires Mark Newell and Naeem Ashraf announced that an inspection would take place at 11.45am, hopes were raised that some cricket might be possible.
However, further prolonged heavy showers in the late morning soaked the outfield once more, and after another inspection at 2.35pm, followed by another downpour, the match was abandoned at 2.45pm.
The news came as a great disappointment to the many spectators who had defied the weather forecast and turned up to watch cricket at one of the most spectacular venues in the country.
Northamptonshire's next match in this competition is at home to Yorkshire on Friday (August 8), whereas Lancashire have to wait until Sunday, when they will take on Somerset at Taunton.

Scarborough: Warwickshire 137, Yorkshire 140-5 - Yorkshire won by five wickets
Ben Cliff's maiden five-wicket haul in first-team cricket - a superb 5 for 46 from 8.3 overs - set Yorkshire up for an opening day One Day Cup win over last year's semi-finalists Warwickshire at Scarborough, by five wickets chasing 138.
New-ball quick Cliff, aged 22, was playing his first first-team game since the summer's opening week following a side injury, and he was the chief tormenter as the Bears were bowled out for 137 inside 37 overs at the start of Group B.
Cliff struck four times in a devastating opening spell, with Warwickshire slipping to 38 for 7 before Vansh Jani's brilliant 82 off 92 balls. It was the 20-year-old's maiden first-team fifty in his second game.
Yorkshire, for whom Adam Lyth took four catches in the slips - equalling a club record for outfield catches in a List A innings, didn't chase with ease on a tricky pitch. But Pakistani international opener Imam-Ul-Haq held things together with 55 off 83 balls.
