Tom Moores signs three-year deal with Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire's wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Moores has committed his future to the club by penning a new three-year contract.

Moore's enjoyed an impressive 2018, scoring 616 runs - including his maiden first-class hundred - in the County Championship and taking 39 catches behind the stumps.

The 22-year-old also stood up in the white-ball competitions, hitting 445 runs at 34.23 in the Vitality Blast and 263 at 37.57 in the One-Day Cup.

Moores had put pen to paper a two-year deal last year and his new contract will keep him at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2021 campaign.

Moores greeted the news, saying: “I’m delighted to commit to the club after having a decent year."

“I can’t thank the club enough for the faith they have shown in me, first giving me the gloves at the start of this season and then giving me a further three years off the back of that.

“As a team we have got some really exciting players and we want to be pushing for silverware in the next couple of seasons.

“Hopefully I can help with that and improve my own game to try and push for further honours.”

Mick Newell, director of cricket, said: “Tom has had a fantastic season with both the gloves and the bat and we’re expecting big things for him in the future.

“We’re extremely pleased with how he took to the task but he knows there is plenty of hard work ahead of him to hit the ground running next year.

“He’s a quality young player so it is brilliant to have him in the squad for the next three seasons at least.”
