New Zealand host England in a five-match women's T20I series, ahead of three one-day internationals.

What is the schedule?

Friday March 29: 5th T20I - Basin Reserve, Wellington - (12am GMT/1pm local time)

Who is in form?

This will be England's first international outing since December's tour of India, during which they completed a 2-1 series win in the T20I leg. Since Jon Lewis was appointed head coach in November 2022, England have played 19 T20Is, winning 14 and losing five.

New Zealand are also in action for the first time in 2024 and will be hoping to bounce back from December's series defeat (2-1) against Pakistan. The White Ferns had a mixed 2023 in the T20I arena, winning six of their 12 completed matches.

England haven't played a T20I in New Zealand since March 2021, when they completed a 3-0 series win. They have only lost one T20I from 10 completed matches in New Zealand.

Who is involved?

Due to a scheduling clash with the WPL (the final is on March 17), four England players - Alice Capsey, Sophie Ecclestone, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Danni Wyatt - will only be available for the final two matches of the series.

Their absences have opened the door for an international return for Linsey Smith and a possible debut for Hollie Armitage.

Smith, who has nine caps, hasn't played for England since June 2019 but has impressed domestically in recent years, 31 wickets in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and 20 in The Hundred over the past three seasons. Armitage, meanwhile, has 508 T20 runs (and seven wickets) for Northern Diamonds and recently lit up the Women's Super Smash, scoring 318 runs at a strike rate of 120.91.

The return of Tammy Beaumont is the other standout selection in the England camp. The opener has been stranded on 99 caps since January 2022 and will want to challenge Wyatt and Sophia Dunkley for a spot at the top of the order with a T20 World Cup later this year.

Amy Jones: New Zealand series clash with WPL gives England opportunity to look at different players

New Zealand will be without Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine for the first T20I due to their involvement in the WPL. Both players are expected to be available from the second T20I onwards.

Suzie Bates will captain the side in Devine's absence while Georgia Plimmer and uncapped batter Mikaela Greig have been added to the squad.

Rosemary Mair could make her first international appearance since August 2022 following strong domestic form. She picked up 14 wickets in the 2023/24 Women's Super Smash, including career-best figures of 4 for 5 in the final. Leigh Kasparek, the second-highest wicket-taker in the Women's Super Smash, is available for the fourth and fifth T20Is.

New Zealand squad: Sophie Devine (second T20I onwards), Suzie Bates, Bernadine Bezuidenhout, Eden Carson (first three only), Izzy Gaze, Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, Fran Jonas, Leigh Kasperek (fourth and fifth only) Amelia Kerr (second T20I onwards), Jess Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Hannah Rowe, Lea Tahuhu, Georgia Plimmer (first T20I only), Mikaela Greig (first T20I only)

TNT Sports have been confirmed as the UK broadcasters for the entire tour. The matches can also be streamed via the Discovery+ app.

Television New Zealand (TVNZ) has the broadcast rights for all of New Zealand's home internationals (men's and women's) until 2026. The series will be shown on Channel 1.
