New Zealand have named separate squads for their upcoming white-ball series against England.

The two sides, who haven't met since the 2022 Commonwealth Games, when New Zealand won the bronze medal match, will contest five T20Is and three ODIs between March 19 and April 7.

Rosemary Mair could make her first international appearance since August 2022 after being recalled to both squads.

The bowler impressed during the 2023/24 Women's Super Smash, taking 14 wickets, including career-best figures of 4 for 5 in the final, as Central Hinds finished as runners-up.

Brooke Halliday and Leigh Kasparek have also been rewarded for strong domestic performances. Halliday, who has been named in both squads, recently scored 108 for Auckland against Canterbury in the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield while bowler Kasparek has 35 wickets in all competitions for Wellington Blaze this season, helping them win the Super Smash and finish second in the Shield. She will be available for the final two T20Is.

Three stand-by players will be named at a later date in case either Amelia Kerr, Lea Tahuhu or captain Sophie Devine is unavailable due to a clash between the first three T20Is and the Women's Premier League.

Liz Green, New Zealand Cricket's head of women's performance, said: "This is an exciting series and an opportunity for our best female players to test themselves against one of the best sides in the world.

"Our players are playing more cricket than ever before at international level, with five tours and a T20 World Cup on the horizon. A five-match T20I series against England provides good preparation for the World Cup later this year and will be a good measure of where we're at leading into the final stages of preparation.

"We've wanted our best players to go away and dominate domestic cricket, and we've started to see that, which means we can reward players who've shown improvement."
