The former India allrounder and the current New Zealand captain have been picked up by Toronto Nationals and Edmonton Royals
Former India international Yuvraj Singh and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson lead the list of new marquee players picked up by franchises in the Global T20 Canada.
Yuvraj, who announced his retirement from international cricket one week ago and subsequently wrote to the BCCI for permission to compete in T20 leagues around the world, has been bought by Toronto Nationals, while Williamson and South Africa counterpart Faf du Plessis will join Edmonton Royals.
Williamson's international predecessor Brendon McCullum will also take part, however he will join Yuvraj in Toronto, while Winnipeg Hawks have included Australian Chris Lynn, South Africa's JP Duminy and West Indian allrounder Dwayne Bravo in their roster.
George Bailey has also been chosen in the auction, with Montreal Tigers acquiring his services, at the same time as allrounders Darren Sammy and Shakib Al Hasan and explosive batsman Colin Munro have joined new side Brampton Wolves.
West Indies duo Chris Gayle and Andre Russell have been retained by the defending champions of the inaugural tournament last year, Vancouver Knights, who have also bought Pakistan veteran Shoaib Malik.
Fellow West Indian pair Kieron Pollard and Sunil Narine have also been retained by their respective sides in Toronto and Montreal.
Ben Cutting is the other allrounder to have been included in the draft, with his services acquired by the Royals.
