Every game in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League is being held at Warner Park on St Kitts, in an effort to minimise the Covid-19 risk to the tournament.
Jamaica Tallawahs and Guyana Amazon Warriors are just two points behind table-toppers Trinbago Knight Riders and second-placed St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, with both sides winning four and losing four of their opening eight matches. However, the Tallawahs are third compared to Guyana's fifth owing to their superior net run rate.
The Tallawahs had a poor start to the 2021 CPL, losing four of their opening six matches, but are now searching for their third consecutive victory. In their most recent outing, they smashed 211 runs past St Lucia Kings en route to a 55-run victory, the second time they've passed 200 this season.
Guyana, meanwhile, have struggled to string performances together, alternating between winning and losing for their past six matches. Most recently, they defeated St Lucia Kings by 17 runs.
When these two sides met in 2020, they shared the spoils with Guyana winning the first match by 14 runs and Jamaica taking the second by five wickets.
Imad Wasim has only made four appearances for the Tallawahs this season but has contributed two very important allround performances. Against Trinbago Knight Riders, he scored 42 runs with the bat and took 2 for 19 with the ball, while against the Kings, he scored a 10-ball 27 and finished with figures of 3 for 34. Ranked 36th on the T20 Player Index, Wasim is a game changer for Jamaica.
Andre Russell also excelled against the Kings, scoring a 15-ball 31 at number five - an ominous sign for his opponents.
For Guyana, Gudakesh Motie was the man of the moment against St Lucia, taking 2 for 12 from four overs. The 26-year-old spinner has five wickets in four appearances to date and an economy of 5.83 - only Mohammad Hafeez has been more miserly for the Warriors.
Nicholas Pooran is also worth keeping an eye on. The Guyana captain has scored 153 runs at a strike rate of 151.48 and can quickly flip a match on its head.

If the Tallawahs' big guns decide to fire, this match will only have one outcome - particularly if they bat first. Jamaica win.
