The India captain said it would be "wonderful" to acquire the Australia allrounder before he was eventually signed for 14.25 crore
Glenn Maxwell has revealed how Virat Kohli raised the prospect of joining Royal Challengers Bangalore before the Indian Premier League auction.
The Australia allrounder, released by Punjab Kings at the end of the 2020 campaign, was one of the big-ticket items ahead of the tournament.
A bidding war between RCB and Chennai Super Kings unfolded during the mini-auction, with the former prevailing with a winning offer of 14.25 crore.
And Maxwell has disclosed that he was sounded out by Kohli after the white-ball matches between Australia and India last year.
