Gujarat Titans climbed back to the top of the Indian Premier League table after Rashid Khan starred with the bat in victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The Afghanistan leg-spinner hit successive sixes via the final two deliveries of the innings off Marco Jansen to deliver a dramatic five-wicket victory at Wankhede Stadium.

Twenty-two were required from the final over and Rahul Tewatia (40*) smashed the first ball over the rope and then took a single to leave Titans needing 15 from four.

Rashid cracked one down the ground but a dot ball appeared to swing the contest back the way of Sunrisers.

But the 23-year-old had other ideas, slicing a wide Jansen yorker for a maximum and with three required he struck the fourth of the over with a risky pull that flew over the dive of the despairing T Natarajan.

Victory takes Titans back to the top of the table with their seventh win in eight games, while Sunrisers - who themselves were bidding to hit the front - sit third after their third defeat.

The contest began with Sunrisers putting on 195 for 6 from their 20 overs, with Abhishek Sharma (65) and Aiden Markram (56) leading the way.

Mohammad Shami claimed 3 for 39 and Yash Dayal was frugal in conceding just 24 from his four overs.

Rashid was uncharacteristically unthreatening, going wicketless and at an economy rate of 11.25 from his four-over allocation.

Titans looked well set in the chase with Wriddhiman Saha hitting 68 from 38 balls with 11 fours and a single six.

Umran Malik ploughed a lone furrow with 5 for 25 but when he dismissed David Miller and Abhinav Manohar in successive balls it left Titans needing 56 from four overs.

After Tewatia survived being given out following a successful DRS appeal, Rashid kept them in touch with a helicopter six off Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Tewatia crashed a four and six off Natarajan's final over to tee up the final over heroics as Jansen and Sunrisers fell apart.

"The feeling feels good, but at the same time you just have it in mind to go out there and have the self-belief, keep my shape strong and hit it," said Rashid, who hammered an unbeaten 31 from 11 balls.

"I was happy to do it against them, but I was just trying to play my game and have the belief in my batting which I've been working on the last two years.

"But as long as we have that belief, anything is possible. Just stay there, keep your shape and hit it strong. So that was our plan and luckily we had those four sixes.

"I'm so happy to be a part of this but most importantly to win the game and these two points will help us."
