Lucknow Super Giants have been fined for maintaining a slow over rate during their match with Mumbai Indians on April 24.
Lucknow defeated the five-time champions by 36 runs at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, with skipper KL Rahul scoring a century and spinner Krunal Pandya claiming three wickets.
However, after falling foul of the minimum over rate, Rahul has been fined 24 lakhs. The remainder of the playing XI have been fined 6 lakhs or 25 per cent of their match fee, whichever is lower.
This is the second time Lucknow Super Giants have been pulled up for a slow over rate, having been pinged for the same offence in their reverse fixture against the Indians. On that occasion, Rahul was fined 12 lakhs.
Earlier in the tournament, the wicketkeeper-batter was also fined 20 per cent of his match fee for an unspecified offence against RCB while Marcus Stoinis was reprimanded in the same game.
Lucknow Super Giants currently sit fourth in the IPL table, with five wins and three defeats after eight matches.
