Mumbai: Lucknow Super Giants 168-6, Mumbai Indians 132-8 - Lucknow Super Giants win by 36 runs

Scorecard

Mumbai Indians slumped to an eighth defeat of their Indian Premier League campaign, this time at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants.

Lucknow captain KL Rahul hit an unbeaten century before Mumbai, still chasing their first win of the season, collapsed from 49 without loss to 67 for 4, with their former left-arm spinner, Krunal Pandya, claiming three wickets.

Only Rohit Sharma, Tilok Varma and Kieron Pollard reached double figures for the five-time champions, who ultimately fell 36 runs short in pursuit.

Super Giants were indebted to Rahul; he hit four sixes in his unbeaten 103, which came off 62 balls, while none of his teammates were able to find the same fluency.

Manish Pandey made a run-a-ball 22, but there were two wickets for Pollard and Riley Meredith, though the latter was expensive in his four overs.

In reply, Ishan Kishan struggled to get going, using up 20 balls for just eight, with Ravi Bishnoi dismissing the left-hander. Dewald Brevis, one of few bright sparks for Mumbai in an otherwise dismal competition, only made three, and Suryakumar Yadav also failed to make it out of single figures.

Jason Holder saw the back of Varma, while Sharma was one of Pandya's three victims, with Pollard – who struggled to get going – another.

Lucknow's win moves them into the top four, just two points behind leaders Gujarat Titans, the other new franchise. Mumbai remain bottom, still without a point.
