What's the match?

Mumbai Indians take on Rajasthan Royals in the 2023 Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to start at 7.30pm local time (3pm BST) on Sunday, April 30.

Where is the match being played?

The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Who's got form?

This game brings together two sides who are at opposite ends of the table. Mumbai Indians, the five-time champions, start the day in eighth with three wins and four defeats from their seven group matches.

And they come into the game off the back of successive defeats to Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans, reverses which came courtesy of two failed chases.

Royals meanwhile look bound for the playoffs having won five of their eight matches. They come into the contest following victory over Chennai Super Kings, a 32-run success delivered courtesy of Yashasvi Jaiswal's 77.

What's the team news?

Royals have escaped the injury curse to have affected several of their rivals and come into the game with a clean bill of health.

Mumbai Indians are hopeful of having Jofra Archer available following his recent return. It was revealed this week that the England seamer travelled to Belgium, where he saw a specialist regarding a long-running elbow issue and had a minor procedure, but it is hoped he will be fit to face his former side.

What's the key matchup?

MI must improve their death bowling performance if they're to challenge the Royals after they shipped 96 in the last five overs against Punjab Kings, and 70 from the final four against Gujarat Titans.

The responsibility to keep it tight will sit on the shoulders of Australians Riley Meredith, Cameron Green and Jason Behrendorff, whose economy rates each sit at around 10-an-over.

They'll likely be faced with Devdutt Padikkal, who comes into the game on a hot streak of form. Since registering two in the opening game he's reeled off a run of 21, 38, 26, 26, 52 and 27 not out.
