What's the match?

Kolkata Knight Riders take on Gujarat Titans in the 2023 Indian Premier League.

When is it taking place?

The match is scheduled to start at 3.30pm local time (11am BST) on Saturday, April 29.

Where is the match being played?

The match will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Who's got form?

Crawling their way up towards the midtable, Kolkata enter this match-up seeking ot consolidate their last victory against RCB which saw them snap their four-game losing streak. Victory would see them consolidate their position in the mid-table on eight points.

While KKR are seeking to firm up their spot in the midtable, Titans have higher ambitions: A win here would see them move two points clear at the top of the league. Buoyed by their convincing  55-run victory over Mumbai last time out, Gujarat will be seeking their third consecutive win having only lost two of their last five.

What's the team news?

Given the consummate team performance from KKR in their last match, expect Jason Roy and Suyash Sharma to be used as the hosts' impact substitute once more. There's no suggestion this ploy will change.

Gujarat fans, meanwhile, will be pleased to hear there are no fresh injury concerns. As has been the case in the tournament so far, Shubman Gill may well make way for Josh Little as their impact substitute.

What's the key matchup?

It's only taken KKR eight games to produce a cohesive team performance. After laying the foundations for their victory against RCB with a 29-ball 56, Jason Roy's performance at the top of the order will be vital to their chances of success.

Titans will also have to quell the momentum emanating from the KKR middle order, after Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh's vital contributions of 48 off 21 and 18 off 10 last time out. Should they fail, KKR will take heart in the fact that their bowling line-up seem finally to have found their feet - Suyash Sharma (2 for 30) and Varun Chakravarthy (3 for 27) ensuring RCB never threatened their total.

Gujarat Titans, meanwhile, will look to their firework-producing batting line-up for further contributions as they take on an in-form KKR bowling attack. Watch out also for the Afghan spin-twins Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad who shared in five wickets as they strangled the Mumbai Indians' batting line-up on their way to victory.
