The India spinner is thrilled to have returned to the fold for the remainder of the IPL after spending nearly three weeks in a medical facility
Axar Patel has likened his delight at being released from a Mumbai medical facility after a bout of Covid-19 to when he made his India Test debut.
The 27-year-old spent nearly three weeks being treated for coronavirus which he tested positive for coronavirus after joining up with Delhi Capitals ahead of the Indian Premier League.
After being removed from the group he was forced into isolation only Capitals' IPL matches for entertainment.
But having made a full recovery, the left-arm spinner has rejoined his teammates and is working his way back to fitness ahead of the remainder of the competition.
"This is the best moment in my life after my Test debut," Patel said in a media release distributed by DC to confirm his return.
"I was alone in my room for 20 days and I didn't have anything to do.
"I was watching the matches and one good thing was that our team won most of the matches, so I got even more motivated to re-join the side.
"We are just focusing on how my body is reacting to training sessions."
