Pakistan will host Zimbabwe for a six-match white-ball tour in October and November, both nations have confirmed.

The pair will play three ODIs in Multan, where international cricket will be played for the first time in 12 years, on October 30, November 1, and 3.

Attention then turns to the trio of T20s on November 7, 8, and 10 in Rawalpindi.

As with many sporting events across the world, the six games will all be played behind closed doors due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Coming amidst the ongoing Indian Premier League, the matches will represent the first international cricket since the conclusion of the English summer and continues the sport's return to the region.

The fixtures will precede the conclusion of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League, with the play-offs penciled in for mid-November.

PSL final rescheduled for November 17

PCB director of international cricket Zakir Khan said: "The confirmation of the series schedule against Zimbabwe after having successfully hosted Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, as well as Marylebone Cricket Club and HBL Pakistan Super League V, in the 2019-20 season not only strengthens Pakistan's reputation as a safe and secure country but also a healthy one after having successfully overcome the Covid-19 pandemic."

Zimbabwe Cricket chairman Tavenga Mukuhlani added: "Needless to say, we at ZC are bursting with excitement as we look forward to playing cricket again and representing our nation with pride and passion in Pakistan."

The three-match ODI series kick starts both country's attempts to qualify for the next 50-over World Cup in 2023.

Thirteen nations will play 24 matches over the next two years, with the top eight progressing directly to the tournament in India, who have already guaranteed their place as hosts.
