Political issues have restricted the two nations to meetings in global tournaments. BCCI secretary Jay Shah says the men's team will not be travelling for the tournament in 2023
India will not be travelling to Pakistan for next year's Asia Cup as the competition edges closer to being moved for the third consecutive edition.
Political differences have prevented the two countries from playing bilateral cricket since 2012-13.
Meetings have been limited to global tournaments mostly in neutral venues since, though Pakistan did go to India for the men's T20 World Cup in 2016.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah, also the Asian Cricket Council president, confirmed the stance, leaving uncertainty over the venue.
"The Asia Cup 2023 will be held at a neutral venue," Shah said after the BCCI's annual general meeting.

"I am saying this as ACC President. We can't go there, they can't come here.
"In the past also, Asia Cup has been played at a neutral venue."
This year's Asia Cup was shifted to the United Arab Emirates from Sri Lanka, where an economic crisis was engulfing the country.
Fittingly, it was Sri Lanka who scooped their sixth title, beating Pakistan in the final.
And in 2018, the UAE played host again after India - the eventual winners - gave up hosting rights.
