The third edition of the 20-over competition was due to start later this month but will now be staged later in the year once the situation has eased
The Lanka Premier League has been postponed due to the ongoing economic crisis across Sri Lanka.
The country has been plunged into political unrest after months of lengthy blackouts, food and fuel shortage and escalating inflation.
Gotabaya Rajapaksa has quit as president after he was forced to flee his residence after protestors stormed the property.
The third edition of the five-team LPL was due to be staged between August 1 and August 21. Sri Lanka's one-day international series against Pakistan was even scrapped to accommodate the tournament.

Issues around securing sponsorship and franchise interest have triggered the decision from Sri Lanka Cricket, after a request from rights holders Innovative Production Group FZE.
It is hoped the tournament will return later in the year should the economic issues ease.
A statement read: "Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) wishes to announce that the Lanka Premier League 2022, which was scheduled to be held from 1st to 21st August 2022 will be postponed, with immediate effect.
"This decision was taken by the SLC, following a request made by the Innovative Production Group FZE (IPG), the Rights Holder of the tournament, which cited the current 'economic situation,' in the country, as not conducive to hosting the tournament."
