Shahzaib Hazan has been banned for a year

Pakistani cricketer Shahzaib Hazan has been banned from the sport for a year and handed a 1million PKR (£6,500) fine by an anti-corruption tribunal.

Hazan's penalty came following his involvement in spot-fixing during the Pakistan Super League last year.

The former Karachi Kings player becomes the fifth man to be banned as part of the investigation by the Pakistan Cricket Board's anti-corruption unit.

The 27-year-old, who played 10 T20 internationals and three ODIs for Pakistan, had been charged with three offences.

Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan have already been found guilty of breaching the anti-corruption code and are now serving five-year bans.

Mohammad Irfan and Mohammad Nawaz were suspended for 12 and two months respectively for failing to report corrupt approaches in a timely manner.

A case is ongoing against Nasir Jamshed.
