England and Warwickshire allrounder Chris Woakes is reportedly nearing a return to fitness after struggling with quad and knee injuries.

Woakes suffered an injury during England's second Test against Pakistan and has missed England's white-ball action against Australia and India.

He is due to make a return for Warwickshire's second XI next Tuesday in a three-day match against Leicestershire.

Woakes will play as a batsman in the fixture at Kibworth Cricket Club.

As he steps up his match participation, Woakes will feature for England Lions in a four-day match against India A at Worcester. He will play a full part in that fixture.
