South Africa will be without Duanne Olivier for the Test series against England after the seamer suffered an injury in a warmup match.
The 30-year-old tore a hip muscle in the tourists' defeat by England Lions at Canterbury earlier this week.
He was South Africa's most successful seamer in the game, taking two wickets, but was only fit to bowl 13 overs before picking up the injury.
"Duanne presented with significant discomfort involving his right hip flexor muscle at the close of play on day three of the four-day tour match," said South Africa team doctor Hashendra Ramjee.

"After clinical assessment, he was referred for an MRI scan which revealed a grade two tear involving the right pectineus muscle."
The former Yorkshire bowler has returned to South Africa; the visitors have not yet named a replacement ahead of the series which begins on Thursday.
