St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have added Sherfane Rutherford to their squad ahead of the 2021 Caribbean Premier League.

The 22-year-old was released by Guyana Amazon Warriors and has been picked up straight away ahead of the new campaign.

Patriots had already confirmed the arrival of Dwayne Bravo from Trinbago Knight Riders, with Denesh Ramdin going in the other direction in a swap deal.

In addition, seven of last season's squad which finished bottom of the table have been retained ahead of the ninth edition of the CPL.

Young talents Dominic Drakes and Joshua De Silva, as well as established West Indies internationals Evin Lewis, Fabian Allen and Sheldon Cottrell all stay on.

Jon Russ Jaggesar and Rayad Emrit make up the remaining retained players.

Eight berths remain to be filled in the player draft, which is scheduled to take place on May 26.

The CPL is confirmed to return from August 28 with all matches to be played at the Patriots' home ground at Warner Park.

Owner Mahesh Ramani said: "This year makes it extra special with us playing at our home – Warner Park. I would like to thank all our team players, support staff and management as well as our global fan base for their continued love and support. I look forward to an amazing season in 2021."
