Guyana Amazon Warriors have released six players ahead of the return of the Caribbean Premier League.

New Zealander Ross Taylor and allrounder Keemo Paul are the high-profile players to be released by the five-time runners-up.

Taylor scored 164 runs at a strike rate of 87.23 on his return to the CPL in 2020.

West Indies international Paul, an ever-present with Warriors since 2017, meanwhile mustered just 77 runs in seven innings while taking nine wickets.

Chris Green, Kissoondath Magram, Sherfane Rutherford and Jasdeep Singh have also departed ahead of the new campaign, which begins on August 28.

In all, 11 players have been retained including Nicholas Pooran, Imran Tahir, Shimron Hetmyer and Brandon King. Warriors will fill the remaining births in their squad during the CPL draft which is scheduled for later this month.

A statement by the management team read: "It is the hope of the Franchise that with the majority of players being together over the last two tournaments, the team unity, camaraderie and support for one another in working towards a common goal and purpose will bring the desired result of winning the tournament this year."
