Where is the match being played?

Every game in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League is being held at Warner Park on St Kitts, in an effort to minimise the Covid-19 risk to the tournament.

Who’s got the form?

At the start of the day's play, Barbados Royals sit bottom of the CPL table, with four points from their opening eight matches. The Royals have won just twice this season - defeating Jamaica Tallawahs by 15 runs in third match and Guyana Amazon Warriors by 45 runs in match seven. However, in their most recent outing against Trinbago Knight Riders, they were restricted to 93 for 9 as they slunk to a six-wicket defeat. With two games remaining and a four point gap to fourth place, they require a minor miracle to reach the knockout stages.

And in fourth place are St Lucia Kings, who have won four and lost four so far this season. The Kings started the season poorly, winning just one of their opening three matches before embarking on a three-match winning run to reignite their season. However, they have lost their past two matches.

When these two sides met in 2020, St Lucia Kings were victorious on both occasions, winning by seven wickets (DLS) and three runs, respectively.

Who to watch?

Roston Chase appears to hold the key to St Lucia's success. The 29-year-old allrounder scored three consecutive half-centuries during his side's three-match winning run and is their highest run-scorer for the season, with 311 runs and a strike rate of 153.20. He's also taken eight wickets and bowled with an economy of 6.6.

With the ball, Jeavor Royal has been the Kings' biggest threat to date, taking 11 wickets and bowling with a team-leading economy of 6.44.

For Barbados, one single player hasn't really taken control with bat or ball in the 2021 CPL - no one has scored more than 200 runs or taken 10+ wickets for the club. However, Glenn Phillips showed what he is capable of during his side's victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors, smashing 44 runs from 31 balls, including two fours and four sixes. Ranked 18th in the T20 Player Index, and with a career strike rate of 141.39, Phillips could potentially steer the Royals to an unlikely playoff berth.
