Where is the match being played?

Every game in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League is being held at Warner Park on St Kitts, in an effort to minimise the Covid-19 risk to the tournament.

Who’s got the form?

The Patriots will certainly come into this game brimming with confidence. With four wins out of their opening four games, they extended their perfect record on September 1 against the Jamaica Tallawahs and protect their early lead in the standings, after hunting down a target of 166 with some 14 balls left over.

Things have been worse for the Royals, however. With four games played, they have just one win on the board, against the Tallawahs - who got their revenge in the return game just three days later. Indeed, most recently the Jamaica-based side were able to chase down the Royals' total with 14 balls left - due to some poor bowling after Mohammad Amir limped off with an injury.

Who to watch?

St Kitts and Nevis will know that the Royals' bowling unit is currently creaky, and whether or not Amir will be able to bowl in this fixture remains currently unclear. Sherfane Rutherford, the number four, has now recorded two consecutive half-centuries, the most recent coming yesterday against the the Tallawahs - doing so  in 26 balls, meaning he recorded a strike rate just shy of 200.

The Royals have their own firepower with the bat too, however, and an important innings from Azam Khan last time out cannot go unappreciated. Batting at number six, Khan came into the crease with two of his previous batsmen dismissed for nought, recording a steady half-century with eight boundaries to bring about a defendable total.

With the ball, Joshua Bishop took three wickets against Jamaica Tallahwahs and was the Royals' only real shining light with the ball. His spell saw off three of their top four, and even included one maiden over. The Patriots will be looking to do their damage with the ball through Dominic Drakes, the 23-year-old left arm seamer advertising himself for the national selectors once more. He took three wickets against Guyana Amazon Warriors and will be keen on recording similar numbers.
