Where is the match being played?

Every game in the 2021 Caribbean Premier League is being held at Warner Park on St Kitts, in an effort to minimise the Covid-19 risk to the tournament.

Who’s got the form?

Guyana Amazon Warriors have won three and lost three of their six CPL matches to date. The five-time runners-up started their 2021 campaign with a nine-run victory over defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders before suffering back to back defeats against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. They have won two of their past three outings, including a tense Super Over victory over the Knight Riders in their fourth match of the season.

Barbados Royals, by contrast, have only won one of their six matches, defeating Jamaica Tallawahs by 15 runs on August 28. They are currently on a three-match losing streak.

When these two sides met on September 4, Guyana won by nine wickets, with Chandrapaul Hemraj scoring 105 not out off 56 balls to help his side chase 130 inside 17 overs.

Who to watch?

Imran Tahir has impressed with the ball for Guyana, taking nine wickets and bowling with an economy of 6.00. He caused chaos in the reverse fixture, removing Johnson Charles, Smit Patel and Glenn Phillips in the space of six balls to reduce the Royals to 28 for 3. Ranked 12th in the T20 Player Index, the South Africa international is second only to Romario Shepherd (11) for wickets taken in the Guyana squad.

With the bat, Hemraj was the obvious star last time out, scoring 105 not out off 56 balls, including 14 fours and five sixes. It was the 28-year-old's first T20 century and just his third 50+ knock. The question now is can he replicate this form in the rest of the group stage?

For Barbados, both runs and wickets have been hard to come by. Pakistani wrecking ball Azam Khan top-scored in the reverse fixture, scoring 28 runs from 26 balls in an uncharacteristically slow innings. However, the 23-year-old is currently his side's leading scorer with 157 runs and has been scoring at a strike rate of 137.71. If he can hit those heights on Tuesday, he may change the outcome of the match.
