Yorkshire Vikings v Northamptonshire Steelbacks: Match preview
Surrey batsman Mark Stoneman has joined Yorkshire on loan.
Former England international Stoneman will be available for five of Yorkshire Vikings' final six group games in the T20 Blast, starting with Saturday's clash against Northamptonshire Steelbacks.
He will cover for the raft of absences Yorkshire are currently experiencing through injury and international call-ups.
Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Adil Rashid, Dawid Malan and David Willey are all away with England at present, while Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Will Fraine are injured.
"We have made a great start to this year’s Vitality Blast and seen some great contributions from some of our younger players, but feel like the addition of an experienced batsman at the top of the order is important to help keep up the momentum," head coach Andrew Gale said.
"Mark Stoneman certainly fits the bill for what we were looking for; an experienced player who will fit in at the top of the order. His quality is well known and we are looking forward to welcoming him into the squad."
Stoneman will miss Yorkshire's game against Notts Outlaws on July 9 in order to return to Surrey ahead of the LV= Insurance County Championship game against Somerset.
