Warwickshire are set to welcome back Hassan Ali after he was released from Pakistan's T20I squad.

Haris Rauf has fully recovered from a shoulder injury suffered during the Pakistan Super League and should play a role in the England warm-up series, which begins on Wednesday (May 22) at Headingley, and next month's Men's T20 World Cup.

Recalled ahead of the Ireland series 18 months on from his last 20-over outing for his country, Hassan returned figures of 0 for 42 on his return in Dublin.

But he is now surplus to requirements - new white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten joined the team in Leeds on Sunday - and is now heading back to Edgbaston.

Warwickshire are waiting to establish his fitness and schedule before determining his return date.

Lancashire are the final opponents of the ongoing County Championship block starting from Friday (May 24) before a break ahead of the T20 Blast.

Birmingham Bears kick off their campaign with a trip to Durham (May 31) and a home meeting with Notts Outlaws (June 1).

Prior to his Pakistan recall, Hassan took three wickets in the Championship games against Hampshire and Nottinghamshire.

They signed New Zealander Michael Rae as injury cover and the seamer returned match figures of 5 for 126 on debut in the defeat by Essex. The match at Chelmsford also saw a first-class debut for 20-year-old Che Simons, who returned 5 for 71 across both innings.

The news comes at a time when Warwickshire's attack is significantly depleted due to injury, with Chris Rushworth, Liam Norwell, Michael Booth, Aamir Jamal and Craig Miles all missing.
