Jofra Archer has signed a new contract with Sussex, two years after his most recent appearance for the county.
The England fast bowler has been frustrated by injury problems and last represented his county in a Royal London Cup warmup match in July 2021.
But Archer trained with England earlier this week ahead of the lingering possibility of a World Cup berth, a positive sign after so much misfortune. He briefly returned to action last winter, featuring for England in Bangladesh and in both the SA20 and the IPL.
"There is no place I'd rather be, it is a lovely club with even lovelier people," said Archer, who has taken 181 first-class wickets for the county.

Sussex head coach Paul Farbrace added: "I am delighted that Jofra has extended his stay at Sussex and we are all really looking forward to seeing him back playing.
"He is a fantastic professional and person to have around the squad when he's with us."
A Sussex statement confirmed that Archer was "continuing his rehabilitation from a long-term injury and has recently resumed bowling under the supervision of the ECB's medical team, with a view to potentially making the World Cup squad as a reserve this winter".
