MS Dhoni made his 200th appearance for Chennai Super Kings during match eight of the 2021 Indian Premier League against Punjab Kings.
The 39 year old wicketkeeper has made 176 IPL appearances for the franchise since 2008 as well as playing 24 matches in the now defunct Champions League T20 between 2010 and 2014.
Dhoni, who has captained CSK on 199 occasions, has scored 4,507 runs for the franchise in 179 innings, including 22 half-centuries, 308 fours, 212 sixes, and only nine ducks. Only batsman Suresh Raina has scored more runs (5,423) for CSK.
The former India captain has also completed 148 dismissals - 123 of which have come in the IPL – including 105 stumpings and 43 catches.
Under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK won back-to-back IPL titles in 2009 and 2010 before capturing a third in 2018. He has also finished second with the side on five occasions.
Last season, he passed the milestone of 200 IPL appearances after spending two seasons with Rising Pune Supergiant between 2016 and 2017, reaching the final in his first year, when CSK were suspended for alleged betting infringements.
