The 28-year old collected four wickets for just 13 runs as Chennai Super Kings reduced Punjab Kings to 26 for five inside seven overs
Deepak Chahar collected career-best IPL bowling figures during Chennai Super Kings’ match against Punjab Kings.
The 28-year old collected four wickets for just 13 runs from his four-over spell as KL Rahul’s side were reduced to just 26 for five inside seven overs.
Given the ball for the first over of the powerplay, Chahar bowled the out of form Mayank Agarwal for a duck before being hit for consecutive fours by Chris Gayle in his second.
However, he quickly recovered, having Rahul runout by Ravindra Jadeja three balls later before collecting the wickets of West Indian duo Gayle (caught Jadeja) and Nicholas Pooran (caught Shardul Thakur) in the penultimate over of the powerplay.

In total, Chahar bowled 18 dot balls, one wide, and conceded just two boundaries as he collected four wickets with an economy of 3.25.
Falling to 26 for five, Punjab recovered to post 106 for eight following a stoic 47 from Shahrukh Khan. Sam Curran, Moeen Ali and Dwayne Bravo each collected a wicket.
