The England allrounder has been in imperious form during the opening three games of the IPL
Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming has paid tribute to Moeen Ali after his player of the match display in the victory over Rajasthan Royals.
The England allrounder scored 26 with the bat and then took 3 for 7 with the ball as CSK ran out comfortable winners by 45 runs in Mumbai.
It was the latest positive contribution from Moeen, who was picked up for £700,000 during the mini-draft. He struck 36 in the opening game against Delhi Capitals before claiming a wicket and hitting 46 in victory over Punjab Kings.
"He's adding an all-round aspect to our game which we lacked a bit last year," explained the former New Zealand captain following the match.
"His contributions to date have been what we were looking for. We're absolutely wrapped with the way he has started.
"In regards to the way we're playing the game, I am really excited about that as well.
"I don't think we played a good 20 overs with the bat yet but we're still able to get high scores. So the long resources we have we are using and we're pushing opposition hard.
"We're playing a positive brand throughout and learning to drive that car.
"Moeen has been really impressive and the way he has played at No.3 has been instrumental in us getting good scores."
