Steve Smith is braced to return to the Australia team for the second one-day international against England on Sunday (September 13).
The 31-year-old missed the 19-run win on Friday as a precaution after being struck on the head by a member of the coaching staff on the eve of the game.
Smith has since undergone two concussion tests but having been given the all-clear by Australia's medical team is free to return to action.
Marcus Stoinis, who made 43 batting at No.3, is likely to make way for Smith's return.
The episode comes a year after Smith was struck during the second Ashes Test against England Lord's, forcing him to leave the field.
Though he eventually returned to the field Smith was ruled out of the subsequent third Test at Headingley.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc is a doubt for the second ODI after complaining of some soreness in his upper leg during the first ODI.
The left-arm seamer fell awkwardly while fielding but was still able to bowl his full allocation, finishing with figures of 0-47 from his 10 overs. Starc will be given up until the start of the match to prove his fitness.
